Context

The product

Divergence Neuro puts EEG-based neurofeedback into therapy practices: clinicians run sessions where patients see their own brain activity reflected back in real time.

Challenge

The problem worth solving

Neurofeedback only works if the loop is tight. Signals had to travel from headset to visualization in under a second, continuously, across consumer-grade home networks — and a dropped session is a lost therapy appointment.

Constraints

What the engineering had to respect

  • Sub-second end-to-end latency on continuous biosignal streams
  • Sessions run over unpredictable home networks, not clinical infrastructure
  • Brain-activity data is sensitive health information with access limited to the care relationship

Contribution

What LaunchStacks did

LaunchStacks built the streaming platform and both surfaces on top of it — the clinician's session dashboard and the patient's real-time feedback experience.

Solution

What shipped

  • Real-time biosignal streaming from headset to browser visualization
  • Clinician dashboards for running, monitoring, and reviewing therapy sessions
  • Patient-facing feedback visualizations that respond within the therapeutic window
  • Session recording and review so clinicians can track progress across appointments

Architecture

How it is built

  • WebSocket streaming pipeline engineered for sub-second latency
  • D3.js visualizations rendering continuous signal data smoothly in the browser
  • Connection-quality handling that degrades gracefully instead of dropping sessions
